Barlow is considered one of the most entertaining, energetic and thought provoking speakers in marketing.   From keynote to general session, Barlow gets a crowd fired up and excited about the prospect of a new marketing life. Barlow is a rare gem, not because he speaks, but how he speaks. He’s an in-your-face, no BS, content-filled visual producer of what to do and what not to do in your marketing. He’s been known to tell his audiences “your commercials suck” and he’s even told owners and principals of business they need to hold themselves accountable and stop allowing “salesmen” of airtime to coddle them. Early in 2017, Barlow  jumped up on a conference table and told 150 dealership owners “your baby ugly”, and the crazy part is that many thanked him afterward. If you’re looking for a dynamic modern approach to new age media, Barlow is as good as it gets.

Businesses have to transition from traditional advertising to Modern Media, they have no choice. Barlow has become the leading Modern Media Consultant in regards to new age marketing. His practice leading the way to multiple industry changes and his relationships with business owners across the country have lead him to be the guy “everyone wants to hear” not just in speaking but in day to day operations. Barlow started the “consulting” leg of his Barlow brand in 2015 when he was asked to simply redefine and oversee one company’s marketing standard. With great results Barlow saw a need of businesses that just need a mindset transformation and then oversee the execution. “So many companies make decisions based on relationships and personal opinion, those two things alone can destroy a tactical approach,” Many of his “consulting” clients spend less and increase opportunity more, it’s part of the Barlow winning formula – it’s a full marketing audit with modern tactical reprieve.

“Being a soccer referee is one of the most gratifying things I do!”   Years ago Barlow had his left knee replaced with a new titanium structure leading him to realize playing soccer was part of his past.  In 2012 after Barlow’s knee replacement and realizing playing soccer at a high level was over – he decided to jump back into reffing and big.  After years of hearing parents scream and yell at the kids, coaches berate referees and the strong desire to just be back on the pitch Barlow decided to educate and hone in on being a high level and requested referee.

Barlow loves the game of soccer. His kids love it, play it and ref it too. It’s become a family event – they travel state to state reffing soccer tournaments sometimes as a unit but most of the time individually

“Some of the toughest moments of my life is watching a coach or parent be disrespectful or condescending to one of my kids but I also know it will make them stronger, more confident.”  says Barlow.  “My reffing style is very deliberate, I let the game flow but I’m harsh on unsporting behavior or dissent, I have a no tolerance policy from the coaches, the players and the parents.”

If you want a good laugh – Barlow has a facebook page called “offside” where he ridicules parents for not understanding the laws of the game.
